Het was tijd om het gele garen te twijnen en wel te kabel twijnen, dus eigenlijk twijn je het dubbel.
Daarnaast had ik iemand beloofd om garen voor hun te twijnen. Het blauwe ging harstikke prima, echter gaf het roze me nogal wat frustratie. Ik had dat eigenlijk willen ketting twijnen (zodat het dichter bij de dikte van de blauw zou komen), maar omdat het garen al een single was waar ik eerst extra twist in moest aanbrengen werd het zo kronkeling dat het ketting twijnen absoluut niet netjes wou worden. Een heel gepruts was het om dat deel wat ik gedaan had weer te ontdoen. Uiteindelijk toch maar met 2 draden getwijnd en zelfs nu is het niet helemaal goed gegaan. Nu zit er wat teveel twist in, maar liever dat dan te weining.
Nu ik toch al zo veel aan het twijnen was leek het mij een goed idee om ook nog een aantal andere garens te (her)twijnen.
Het zwart\/rode garen en ook het koper kleurige garen hadden extra twist nodig en dat kregen ze nu dus eindelijk.
Tot slot waren er ook nog een paar garens die ik op middeleeuwse manier had gesponnen, maar nog zaten te wachten om getwijnd te worden. (rood, paars en neon groen)
Nu is dat allemaal eindelijk af en zit het niet meer plek in mijn achterhoofd op te nemen dat ik er nog wat mee moet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes indeed that was quite a bit of plying but I had also promised someone to ply their singles yarns, and some other plying to do too. So because I was already in a plying and finishing mood I did a whole lot of more plying.
First making good on my promise and plying the blue yarn, that went very nicely. Then the pink one, and that gave me headaches. One because it was already a finished singles that needed extra twist to even want to ply, but now it wanted to coil up on itself if I wasn’t careful.
I had planned to chain ply it, so it would come closer to the thickness of the blue yarn.
This though was not to be. It became a giant mess, whatever I tried. I managed to undo the chain ply, but the less said about that process the better …
Eventually I did a regular 2 ply that, in the end, ended up being a bit overplied, but better that than a limp lifeless yarn.
Speaking of limp lifeless yarn. There was still some red\/black and copper yarn languishing in my stash waiting for me to put some extra life and energy in them (aka. adding extra twist).
Finally I also had some (medieval) spindle spun yarn that still needed to be plied, so that got done too.
Now it is all finished, and the whispering “Finish me, finish me” has stopped taking up space in the back of my head.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
