In de toekomst neem ik aan wat frivolit\u00e9 projecten te gaan doen waarvan ik de uiteindelijke grote redelijk goed moet kunnen inschatten.
Combineer dat met nieuwsgierigheid naar hoe verschillende garens er uit zien en zich gedragen in frivolit\u00e9,
plus al een aardige collectie aan garen die ik hiervoor kan gebruiken en toen had ik onderzoek om te doen! LEUK!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ik had een makkelijk en snel patroon nodig, dus ik gebruikte hetzelfde patroon als ik voor de vierkante frivolit\u00e9 sneeuwvlok kerstkaarten had gebruikt (potjandosie wat een mond vol \ud83d\ude1b )
Uiteindelijk heb ik 43 van deze vierkante sneeuwvlokjes gemaakt!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hier heb ik aardig wat van geleerd:
Katoenen naaigaren van G\u00fcterman is niet sterk genoeg voor frivolit\u00e9.
Visdraad werkt wel, maar het is opletten en een hele workout voor de handen!
Sommige garens bouwen twist op met het sluiten van ringen, wat dan moeilijker gaat.
Andere garens worden teer na ik een fout heb gerepareerd.
Elk beetje pluizigheid van garen zorgt ervoor dat het moeizamer gaat.
Elk klein dikte verschil in het garen is merkbaar en werkt niet lekker, het kan echter wel een mooi effect geven.
Het verschil tussen naaigaren en lockgaren werd ERG duidelijk; lockgaren is veel pluiziger en onregelmatig van dikte. De groote is hetzelfde. Dus als je ieniminie wil gaan, gebruik dan naaigaren \ud83d\ude09
Linnen garen kan je ook gebruiken, maar linnen heeft over het algemeen aardig wat dikteverschil in het garen, dus leuk is het niet.
Met het maken van de kerstkaarten had ik snel door hoe veel garen ik moest gebruiken om 1 keer het patroon te maken. Dit wou ik gebruiken al leidraad om de lengtes die ik nu nodig had in te schatten. Dit bleek hooguit te helpen voor een hele ruime schatting. Verschil in dikte, pluizigheid, gladheid, en hoe soepel of stijf het draad is heeft allemaal invloed op hoe veel je nodig hebt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tot slot zijn hier mijn top 6 aan garens die ik heb voor frivolit\u00e9

In the future I want to make some tatting projects where I have to be relatively exact in sizing. Combine that with a desire to see how different yarns look and behave in tatting, plus a respectable collection of yarns in my stash I can use for tatting, and I got myself an experiment to do!
I needed a pattern that was quick and easy, so I used the same pattern as for the christmas decorations.
I ended up making 43 of these square stars!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were quite a lot of discoveries to make:
G\u00fcterman cotton sewing thread is too fragile to tat with.
Fishing line works, but gosh that’s a workout!
Some yarns don’t like it when I want to close rings – due to twist bunching up, others are prone to breaking after I’ve fixed a mistake.
Any yarn fuzzyness is cause for a less enjoyable tatting time.
Every unevenness in yarn thickness is cause for frustration, it can look nice tough.
The difference between sewing thread and lockyarn became VERY clear: lockyarn is rather more fuzzy and pretty uneven in thickness, the size is the same, so yeah just use sewing thread if you want to go tiny!
Linnen can be used, if you want a rustic look, but otherwise\u2026 leave it be, it’s not fun to tat with – too much uneven yarnthickness.
Oh and with the chrismas decorations I figured out how often I needed to turn my shuttle to wind on just the right amount of that particular yarn. I could now use this only as a guideline: on average; thinner yarn needed less turns, thicker yarn, more. Stiffness or slickness also account for needing either more or less.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
