Dus vloerkleed af, en nog 1 alpaca vacht over, de beste van de allemaal.
Nog steeds niet fantastisch maar toch.
In het tijdschrift “Handwerken zonder grenzen”, 4/81 stond een gevilte muts die gevonden is in de buurt waar ik en mijn man zijn opgegroeid. Die wou ik wel namaken.
Reden genoeg om nat vilten een keer te proberen.
Al gauw kwam ik er echter achter dat dit een handwerk techniek is die ik helemaal niet leuk vind! Dat gebeurd me niet zo vaak.
Met tegenzin ben ik net zo lang door gaan vilten tot ik iets had dat op een muts lijkt.
Het lijkt dan ook helemaal niet op de muts die ik in eerste instantie probeerde na te maken, maar ik ben wel blij met het resultaat. Ik lijk haast een ondeugend elfje met deze muts op 😛

With finishing the rug in the previous post I still got one unused alpaca fleece, and it was the best quality one from the bunch.
There was also a hat I wanted to make that was featured in the magazine: “Handwerken zonder grenzen, 4/81”.
It is a hat that was found in the town my partner grew up in, so that had piqued my interest. Only no mention from when this hat dates.
I thought to myself, why not give it a go, and so I did.
I found out very quickly that wet felting is one of the rare textile crafts that I really don’t like, which resulted in me not trying very hard.
This resulted in a hat that by far does not resemble the one from the magazine, and there are lots of mistakes, but I’m still very happy with this pixie esque result.
