Het hartjes patroon (holding hands heart) dat ik deze maand ontworpen heb is erg leuk om weer eens wat verschillende frivolité garens die ik al heb eens uit te proberen en mijn inmiddels aardig grote collectie frivolité garens wat te doen krimpen.
Zo heb ik ontdekt dat polyester garens vaak niet fijn zijn voor frivolité omdat (grotere) ringen slecht willen sluiten.
Andere garens zijn juist weer heel fijn zoals die van; DMC, Coats, Anchor, Presencia en Wonderfil.
Verder vind ik het heel erg leuk om met kleurtjes te spelen. Ik heb namelijk een aardige hoeveelheid (gekregen!) garen dat heel dun is, die ik kan combineren om een wat groter hartje te krijgen.
Ook kan ik zo mooi de kleurverloop garens gebruiken die ik bij het kopen prachtig vond, maar in grotere frivolité patronen niet tot hun recht vind komen.
Tot slot heb ik al een heleboel van deze hartjes uitgedeeld, ben ik van plan om er dit jaar in ieder geval 1000 te maken, en ik heb er ook al een aantal gezien die door anderen zijn gemaakt!

Lots of hearts
The heart pattern (Holding hands heart) I designed earlier this month is ideal to use up all manner of tatting thread that have accumulated in my stash, and to come to some conclusions about them.
Now I know that quite some polyester thread is no fun to close rings with, it’s too sticky.
On the other hand threads from the brands; DMC, Coats, Anchor, Presencia, and Wonderfil are a delight to tat with.
Then there’s loads of fun to be had with very thin threads that can make very nice colour combinations.
Next there’s also variegated thread that has great colour gradients, but aren’t good choises to make bigger tatted pieces with. Most of the time it is because the colour gradients make the tatted pieces look very busy and sometimes even messy.
Last but not least: A lot of hearts have been spread already, and my goal is to have made a 1000 this year! Plus there’s already some of these hearts out there that are not tatted by me!!!
